Dry Salt Therapy

(Halotherapy)

We are living in times where more and more people are suffering from respiratory issues caused by pollution, airborne diseases, and pollens and toxins. Our society has never faced such a growing epidemic of respiratory ailments. On average, a person takes 17,000 to 21,000 breaths each day. The lungs are living air purifiers and are constantly under attack from each breath taken that contains allergens, bacteria, pollen, pollutants, toxins, and other particles. Exposure to these can lead to absorption of the allergens and pollutants, tightening or obstruction of the airways, bacteria, growth, inflammation, increased mucus viscosity, or even respiratory diseases.

Dry Salt Therapy, also known as Halotherapy, has been researched over many decades, and studies performed over the last several decades have shown it to be an alternative treatment for respiratory and also for skin conditions. There are many clinical studies and research as to the health benefits and efficacy of salt therapy.

Back in the 1800s, a Polish doctor realized salt mine workers did not have as many respiratory concerns as the other miners. A German doctor also noted respiratory health benefits in those who were spending time in salt caves versus those who were not. By the 1950s and 1960s, salt chambers became a popular form of therapy as word spread about the health benefits. Salt caves are common in Eastern Europe and a popular place for Halotherapy. They are not as common here in the US, but salt rooms/chambers are becoming extremely popular as people become much more health-conscious.

WHAT IS SALT THERAPY (HALOTHERAPY)?

Halotherapy or salt therapy is where 99.99% Pure Grade Sodium Chloride (salt) is heated and then ground and crushed into very tiny microparticles. These dry aerosol microparticles of salt are then dispersed into the salt room by a machine called a Halogenerator.  Dry Salt Therapy is 100% natural, safe and drug-free.

As one relaxes in the salt room, the microparticles in the air are inhaled. These particles penetrate deep into the respiratory system to stimulate the body's internal processes for cleansing the respiratory tract and strengthening lung function. Salt particles that are not inhaled are absorbed by the body through the skin and help to combat skin conditions.

Dry salt therapy has been medically recognized in Europe for more than 50 years for the treatment of breathing problems and skin issues. This safe and affordable alternative therapy compliments conventional medical treatments as an integrative approach to produce positive and sustainable results.

WHAT IS SALT THERAPY (HALOTHERAPY)?

  • THE BENEFITS OF SALT THERAPY – Halotherapy benefits adults and children alike, as well as athletes and even animals.

  • Respiratory Conditions - A majority of people who visit salt rooms on a regular basis may find relief from many respiratory conditions. These may include asthma, allergies, common cold, bronchitis, COPD, cystic fibrosis, and more.

  • Skin Conditions - Salt therapy is beneficial for people who have some skin conditions and find relief from many conditions such as eczema and psoriasis

  • Overall Well-being - Because people are exposed to pollutants, airborne diseases, bacteria, allergens and other irritating and harmful factors on a regular basis, one does not need to have any chronic conditions to benefit from the use of a salt room. Halotherapy is beneficial for overall general well-being because it removes the toxicity from the respiratory system. It is a terrific way to cleanse and detox the lungs and also invigorate the entire body with better lung capacity and oxygen intake.

  • Physical - Athletes (Recreational, Competitive, and Professional) seeking to breathe easier during periods of exercise, enhance their athleticism, increase their endurance, and reduce recovery time find that using Halotherapy provides them with better lung function and greater oxygen saturation, thus allowing them to perform at a higher level.
